Henkel has announced the launch in China of a new line it is describing as the ‘first customized hair care e-brand scientifically designed to meet every customer’s individual hair needs’. Schwarzkopf My Specialist is based on advanced microscopic testing and is being launched in cooperation with Chinese online shopping site Tmall.

Consumers send their hair samples to the My Specialist lab, and after analysis they receive a shampoo with nine power shots, especially recommended for that person’s needs.

A new fragrance delivery machanism from Byredo just hit the social media channels: Blow by Byredo. You blow the perfumed air on your skin instead of spraying it.

This device also allows customization: there are 5 fragrance capsules inside, which are blended according to your taste to create you own signature.

Blow seems to be inspired by electronic home fragrance diffusers.

And? Are you blown away by this innovation? Yours, Fran

A UK retail magazine challenged the design industry to develop new snack concepts.

Hornall Anderson’s Twist’d concept has a lid that dispenses flavours onto the snack.

The snacks are without seasoning – until the lid is twisted. Consumers just have to give the lid a little twist to add the range of four quirky flavours, including Sea Salt & Seaweed, BBQ & Honey, Chilli & Chocolate and Cheddar & Stilton.

I guess non-food companies could easily borrow this idea to spice up your product.

Have a nice start of the week! Yours, Fran

Agronauti is a new personal care brand that encourages consumers to collaborate & share.

The brand is focusing on vegan products only, and since they are kind of new, they came up with a great idea: why not having people from different expertise areas on board? But how to recruit them? Well this is what they do:

Agronauti is looking for chemists, doctors, pharmacists, students & consumers. You click on CONTRIBUTE on their website, simply register and help them improve/ upgrade their products. “We consider our formulas OPEN SOURCE software, so we used the same tools that developers commonly use for free contributions to software development.

So basically you will become part of their research and development work!

Its a new twist to customization demonstrating full transparency & fostering a sharing culture.

Let’s get involved! Yours, Fran
