Fashion and food are two lifestyle disciplines that easily belong together. For a while already, high fashion retailers have added food experiences to their flagship stores. In March 2014, Italian luxury brand Prada became a majority shareholder of the historical pastry shop Pasticceria Marchesi. This month the first Pasticceria Marchesi flagship store is opening its doors under Prada’s reign, on the luxury street Via Montenapoleone in the heart of Milan.
Prada is working with the founding family to ensure that the concept is rolled out as close to the original as possible. Prada worked with its go-to architect Roberto Baciocchi to create a slightly more modern identity for the shop front, resulting in a very luxurious experience. Open every day of the week including Sunday, the new pastry shop serves everything from breakfast and lunch to apéritifs, from 7.30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
This place is definitely on my bucket list for my next Milan trip.
Have a good rest of the week! Yours, Fran
